Cave Nectar Bat Eonycteris spelaea

Status: Vulnerable

Interesting Facts: It is a pollinating agent of many forest trees including durians. As the bat feeds on the nectar of the flower, it's face is dusted with pollen which is then transfer to the next flower the bat visits.

Size: Forearm 6-7cm, body 8.5-11.5 cm

Diet: Nectar and pollen.

Activity: Nocturnal, move out to feed before dusk.

Habitat: Roost in large noisy colonies in caves but occasionally roosts in deserted houses.

Threats: There are very few natural caves in Singapore.
