Interesting Facts: False vampire bat got its name from the old erroneous belief that these bats feed on blood. However, they are not true vampire bats. False vampire bat feeds on insects and a variety of small vertebrates.

Size: Head and body length about 6.5-9.5 cm

Diet: Consists of insects and other small vertebrates, including other bats.

Activity: Nocturnal

Habitat: Roosts in small groups in caves, tunnels, hollow trees and pits.
