Status: Endangered

Interesting Facts: This squirrel was first discovered in Singapore in 1925 in Kranji and Bukit Timah. All flying squirrels are nocturnal. When they jump, all four limbs are extended to stretch the membrane of skin between them. Thus they are able to glide for long distance.

Size: 17-19cm, tail 15-18 cm

Diet: Not known.

Activity: Arboreal, nocturnal, generally in pairs or small family groups.

Habitat: Forest habitats such as Bukit Timah Nature Reserve where large trees become a crucial part of its existence.

Threats: Habitat destruction.
