Interesting Facts: This is the most abundant rat in Singapore. It was formerly included within Rattus rattus.

It has a pointed snout, with short limbs and an almost naked tail. The upperparts is olive brown while underparts is slightly paler. Its tail is uniformly brown.

Size: HB to 22cm, Tail to 22cm

Diet: Omnivorous.

Activity: Nocturnal, lives in and around houses, frequents roof spaces in buildings.

Habitat: Common in gardens, low buildings.
