Red-necked Bronzeback Dendrelaphis kcopsteini

Photographs by Norman Lim taken at Central Catchment Nature Reserve.

Interesting Facts: The Red-necked Bronzeback has only been described recently despite the fact that it is quite commonly spotted in Singapore. Interestingly, it was mis-identified as Elegant Bronzeback in Singapore until Gernot Vogel shed some light on the differences between Red-necked Bronzeback and the Elegant Bronzeback..

When disturbed, it puffs up its neck in a defensive posture, showing off its reddish-coloured neck.
